Oakwell was founded in a one-room workshop by master woodworker Elias Thorne, who believed furniture should be built once and passed down, not replaced. Every Oakwell piece still begins as raw hardwood, hand-selected for grain and character.
Today our small team of joiners and finishers continues that same practice — mortise-and-tenon joints, hand-rubbed oil finishes, and zero particleboard, ever. What leaves our shop is meant to outlive us.
