Salt & Wax Surf Co. began in 2012 when longtime local Danny Cruz started renting boards out of the back of his van at the north end of the pier. Word spread fast, and within two years Danny had opened a proper shop steps from the sand.
These days our crew of instructors and shapers still put beginners first — every rental comes with a five-minute lesson on etiquette and safety, no charge, because we'd rather grow the lineup than gatekeep it.
